Hi, I'm Fabienne. Originally from Essen, Germany, I moved to the UK to do a BA in Experimental Psychology at the University of Oxford and to the Netherlands to do an MSc in Human Decision Science at Maastricht University. After my MSc, I conducted research as an independent contractor in collaboration with a number of universities, including Harvard, Oxford, and Bonn, and led a small German party of social liberal science enthusiasts for some years. I am currently finishing my PhD in psychology at the University of Bonn, remotely from Warsaw, Poland.
I am passionate about...too many things really. Contributing to flourishing and reducing suffering. If I think a project has a good expected value and it matches my skillset, I easily become enthusiastic about it. I have conducted research - usually randomised controlled trials - on mental health, cognitive performance, AI, the psychology of altruism and rationality, and animal welfare. I am a fan of Open Science and generally interested in research methods and statistics. I speak German, English, Spanish, and French.
I enjoy Terry Pratchett novels (favourite: Small Gods), learning about how people and things work, bouldering, Latin dances, acrobatic and ball sports, spending time with my family.
